Quality and Standards Division (QSD) is directly involved in ensuring compliance to the aviation safety and security standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This is accomplished through regular monitoring and updating of activities and processes under the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach (USOAP-CMA) within the ICAO On-line Framework (OLF) and internal audit activities.
QSD also plays a direct role in coordinating courses and training programs recommended by ICAO to ensure competency of CAAM personnel is maintained. It serves as the focal point for green initiatives in aviation, in line with ICAO’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, including the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and the State Action Plan to realize the ICAO Long-Term Aspiration Goal (LTAG) by 2050.
